Baby Lailah's Favorite Pastime

After fearing that Miss Lailah would not latch on, and I would have to give her formula--she has since attached herself to my "ninny",lol.Lailah eats alllllll the time! But I'm thrilled she got the hang of it. My Auntie C told me not to give up...glad I didn't.

Here's a pic of the kid a tad stressed out..trying to get the ninny...

Hello, Hello, Hello...Greetings from the land of motherhood. I am enjoying this phase of my life sooo much. Miss Lailah now weighs in at 8lbs 6oz, and is seemingly more alert everyday. She has even given up a few smiles..although not for me--for her father! But nontheless its the cutest thing. Hopefully I can catch it on camera soon. This breastfeeding thing is getting better day by day, and although it still hurts when she initially latches on, I enjoy the private bonding time.
I am also pleased to announce that sleep is getting better each day. We're starting to develop somewhat of a pattern. I can usually get her to sleep by 12:30, wake up for a feeding at about 3:30..then sleep again and back up at about 6 or 7.Sooo I am really happy about that. Not much else to report for right now, but here are some pics.

So, my little Angel is 10 days old now and everyday there's a new experience. Today she pooped all over my bed..what a joy! I guess when I put that diaper on at 6am (half sleep by the way) it wasn't as tight as I thought.lol. We had a busy weekend..tons of visitors. Lailah got to meet her great Auntie C, auntie Laurin, Tiffany and Damali, Grandpa, Great Grandma Carter...the list goes on and on. So of course there were tons of pics taken. Here are a few...

Lailah Has Arrived!!!

My Lailah has finally made her debut into the world. I am pleased to announce that she was born Friday, February 8, 2008 at 7:27pm.She weighed 7lbs 9oz, and measured at 21inches. After waiting 9 plus months, I was induced Thursday night. Getting through the night wasn't so bad..it was Friday afternoon that had me in a daze...
On my way to the hospital...

This is a piece of cake...

NOT!!!

But SOOOOOO worth it..

There's much more to share, but I'm outta time--the little one is waking up.

We Made it!!

Sooooooo, today is the first BIG day in a series of BIG days to come. Tonight at 6pm I will be at Kent General Hospital..getting induced! Since Miss Lailah decided she wasn't ready, we're gonna speed up the process. I must say although I'm nervous about the pain...I am SOOOOOOOOOOO excited. I finally get to meet her!I haven't been sleeping well lately, but after I said my prayers last night I slept like a baby...no pun intended.I truly belive God has a method to this madness..there's a reason it takes 9 plus months for them to develop, I really believe it gives the parents time to wrap their minds around the idea and get as prepared as possible. And although these last few weeks have been anxiety ridden, I am thankful for the healthy pregnancy I had, and thankful for the time and prepartation. And now it's time to get things started. It's such an overwhelming feeling knowing what's about to happen--but I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world. So...with having said all that I'm gonna take the next few hours to check and make sure I have everything I need, try to rest..and I'll be back next week with TONS of pics of Baby Lailah.
